Adding prerequisites to a course section
Prerequisites allows staff to limit access to the next sub sections if the learner hasn’t acquire a minimum score percentage or completion rate at a previous sub section.
You can only add prerequisites to sub-sections. Subsection prerequisites are alwais enable, however if you cannot find the feature. Admins can enable them under advanced settings, and then Enable Subsection Prerequisites.
If you want the option to appear in the sub section parameters, switch to on.
To use a sub-section as a prerequisite:
1. Go to the course outline, click on the parameter button of the subsection.
2. Go to Advanced, and click on “Make this subsection available as a prerequisite to other content”
To limit access through a prerequisite:
1. Go to the course outline, click on the parameter button of the subsection.
2. Go to “Advanced”, and choose in the drop-down list the sub-section previously set.
3. Once you have selected your prerequisite, you will have to enter a minimum score percentage or a complation percentage to limit access to this subsection.
4. Once you have done that, your subsection will look as following in the course outline:
� Note: Forums that are located in a sub-section blocked by a prerequisite are no longer visible under the discussion global tab until the prerequisite is met.
