Creating a badge
Go to the Settings tab and then to the section Grading.
Fill in the fields with the information about the badges to be created.
- Upload an image, this will be the visuel for your badge. The recommended size is 200 x 200px
- The abbreviation has to be short and without any special character (ex: S1, W1, Sequence1, badge1…). It corresponds to the image name.
- The image name cannot contain spaces or the platform won’t take into account the success level.
- The threshold is the minimum result (%) the learner can have so to obtain his badge. By default the platfomr set this field to 80, but the value by default can be changed. Please contact your local team to ask for a new default value.
- The total weight of all the badges should be equal to 100 if a certification is the result of obtaining a badge. It corresponds to the weight in the calculation of the final grade (cf. certificate).
- To have the weight of total grade, you have to divide 100 by the number of badges to do. If you have 2 badges, the weight of total grade will be 50.
- If there is no certification when obtaining a badge, the weight of total grade can be equal to 0.
- Note: Do not add any comma, it must be a round number.
- Total Number: The total number of subsections in your course that contain problems of this assignment type. By default, you can put the value 1.
- Number of droppable: The number of assignments of this type that the grader will drop. The grader will drop the lowest-scored assignments first. By default, you can put the value 0.
Click on Save changes at the bottom of the page.
Once all the badges have been created, return to the course by going into the Content tab, and the Outline section.
Go to the sub-sequence which leads to an evaluation (thus a badge) and click on the configuration icone on the right.
In the field Grade as, choose the badge title desired and click on Save.
Note : you can only associate a badge to a graded sub-section (containing quiz type questions, randomized questions, open response assessment, ILT and check button).
Check if your badges appear as you wish by going in the Live Version of the course, when you click on Progress page.
